WHAT IS A CAR DETAIL?

Car detailing is a systematic, thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an auto vehicle. It includes detailed work on both the interior and exterior, restoring, and in some cases, exceeding showroom quality.

WHY DETAIL MY CAR?

To preserve the vehicle's interior and paint work. The interior needs to be clean and fresh for a safe and comfortable commute. For example, according to research, your steering wheel could harbor nine times more germs than a public toilet seat. If you were selling you car, having it professionally detailed will increase your chances in receiving top dollar, and will sell it quicker than your competition.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY CAR PROFESSIONALLY WASHED AND WAXED?

Ideally your car should be washed once a week to avoid contaminants bonding to your paintwork. I am finding most of my customers are happy for once a fortnight. Depending on circumstances, and the package we recommend for your car, wax or paint sealant should be applied every three to four months.

THE PAINT WORK ON MY CAR DOES NOT FEEL AS SMOOTH AS WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED

Washing the car regularly is not enough to remove oxidisation build up that occurs from UV rays and parking under trees, which can deteriorate unprotected paintwork. That is why, here at Auto Perfection Detailing, we have come up with a detailed schedule, so your car is protected all year round, using a variety of methods.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POLISH AND WAX?

Polish is the first step to remove oxidisation and an array of scratches, while enhancing a deep gloss to the paintwork.

Wax is either a liquid or paste protectant that will form a barrier on your paint work - like sunscreen.

IT HAS JUST RAINED ON MY RECENTLY DETAILED CAR, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Your car is now protected with wax. In the event of bad weather, the rain will bead off the paint and glass. Another quick rinse with a high pressure or garden hose, then a gentle chamois off will return it back to a perfect finish.
